Singing Lessons

I began giving music lessons in 1996. I have worked with a range of school and community groups, including working as vocal coach and Musical Director for Musical productions, as well as giving individual singing lessons. Click here to find out more about my qualifications.

I specialise in teaching people with no previous vocal training, and those with limited or no prior experience of singing. I have experience of working with people of all ages.

I explore a range of different musical styles with my pupils, enabling them to develop interests in new styles, while respecting and encouraging existing tastes. Lessons are tailored according to individual needs, learning styles and personal preferences. This enables everyone to get the most out of their lessons.

Listening & vocal skills

Listening and vocal (also known as aural) skills are integral to good musicianship. I encourage all my pupils to sing, and recommend that we include an element of vocal and listening training in all instrumental lessons.

Aural skills are also tested as a part of instrumental exams as well as GCSE, AS & A2 music exams.
